Essential Duties & Functions

  • Performs data entry for Accounts Receivable including, but not limited to; posting cash receipts, entering invoices into customer portals, processing credit card transactions and invoicing daily shipments
  • Contacts customers to resolve discrepancies; timely follow-up as required
  • Assists in reconciling customer accounts to ensure accuracy of records
  • Assists in generating customer monthly statements and reminder emails
  • Works with other departments to research and solve accounting concerns
  • Generates monthly accounting reports for management review
  • Assists Accounting Manager with special projects as needed
  • Reviews freight invoices for accuracy and verification charges were forwarded / absorbed as necessary; invoice / obtain credits as applicable
  • Maintains records by indexing pertinent documents, check batches and credit card receipts
  • Maintains high standards of accuracy and assures compliance with company and other applicable policies and procedures
  • Provides back-up support to receptionist by answering incoming calls

Qualifications

  • Associates degree (AA) and/or one to two years of accounting experience
  • Proficiency working in a computer supported environment with accounting software and Microsoft office programs
  • Possesses strong research and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to calculate figures and amounts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow; able to multi-task
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of a team
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
