FKM VITON MATERIAL
Fluorocarbon rubber (FKM Viton ®) has excellent resistance to high temperatures, ozone, oxygen, mineral oil, synthetic hydraulic fluids, fuels, aromatics, and many organic solvents and chemicals. It has a higher resistance to swell in high octane and oxygenated fuel blends.
Low-temperature resistance is normally not favourable and for static applications is limited, although in certain situations it is suitable down to -40°F (-40°C). Gas permeability is very low and similar to that of butyl rubber. Special fluorocarbon compounds exhibit improved resistance to acids, fuels, water, and steam.

VITON GASKET MATERIALS
VITON ® A GASKET MATERIAL
Viton A – General Properties
Offers a broad range of resistance to oils, fuels, lubricants and most mineral oils. Very good resistance to many aliphatic hydrocarbon fluids that act as solvents for many other rubbers. Exceptionally good resistance even at temperatures that can stiffen other non-fluorinated elastomers. Viton® A is resistant to atmospheric oxidation, sun, weather, and has excellent resistance to fungus and mold.
- Viton® A offers good fluid resistance at a very affordable price.
- Viton® GLT Peroxide curable offering low temperature flexibility -40°C (-40°F).
VITON ® B GASKET MATERIAL
Viton B – General Properties
Viton® B has better resistance and retains flexibility better after dry heat aging than Viton® A. It is recommended with good mechanical properties. Viton® B is specified by the Fluid Sealing Association to resist sulfur dioxide in power generating factory systems. Viton® B offers superior resistance to both diluted and concentrated aggressive acids, and various mineral acids including: Sulfuric Acid, Nitric Acid, and Hydrochloric Acid.
- Viton® B offers better overall fluid resistance than Viton A, with economical pricing.
- Viton® GB Peroxide curable offering better a compression set.
- Viton® GBLT Peroxide curable offering low temperature flexibility -40°C (-40°F).
VITON ® F GASKET MATERIAL
Viton F – General Properties
The “F” family of Viton® was designed for today’s oxyengated fuels, modern lubricants, and blended chemicals. As new chemicals and fuels are developed, new technology in Viton has led to the development of the Viton® F family of sealing products. Viton® F offers excellent resistance to fluids that Viton® A and B types cannot adequately resist. Viton® F types are highly resistant to oxygenated fuels containing (MeOH, EtOH, MTBE), engine lubricants (SE-SF and SG-SH grades), aromatic hydrocarbon process fluids, chemicals and conentrated mineral acids.
- Viton® B (with Bisphenol cure). Viton® F offers the best fluid resistance at a very affordable price.
- Viton® GF Peroxide curable offering resistance to Aqueous Fluids: Water, Steam and Mineral Acids. (H2SO4, HNO3, HCL, etc.)
- Viton® GFLT Peroxide Curable offering exceptional chemical resistance and maintains flexibility in low temperature applications -40°C (-40°F).
VITON ® GASKET MATERIAL EXTREME
Viton ® Extreme offers more universal chemical resistance than either standard grades of Viton ® or TFE/P (Aflas) Elastomers. Viton ® Extreme was originally develolped to resist Sour (H2S) petroleum environments that are commonly found in the oil field. However, it has become widely used in the Chemical Processing, Pertoleum Refining, Semiconductor and Chemical Transportation industry.
Today’s blended fuels with additives and oxygenates such as MTBE, TAME, ETBE and alcohols offer difficult sealing solutions that Viton® Extreme can solve without the cost of high performance perfluoroelastomers (Kalrez).
- Viton ® ETP Cost-effective replacement for perfluoroelastomers like Kalrez, Chemraz, and Simriz
SUPERIOR RESISTANT VITON SPONGE RUBBER SHEETS
Viton ® Sponge resists the corrosive attack of a wide variety of chemicals and fluids. It delivers superior protection against oils, fuels, lubricants, most mineral acids, and fire-resistant hydraulic fluids. It performs well in many aliphatic and aromatic hydrocarbons (carbon tetrachloride, benzene, toluene, xylene) that act as degrading solvents for other rubbers.
1/8” 1/4” 3/8” 1/2”
Viton ® Sponge plays a particularly vital role in cases where soft flouroelastomers are desirable. The practical low hardness limit for solid Viton ® is 55 durometer. Viton ® Sponge fills this void where softer material is required, yet the heat and fluid resistance of solid Viton ® is necessary.
Additional advantages of Viton ® Sponge over conventional elastomeric sponges include: low temperature flexibility, high resistance to ozone attack, and low moisture absorption.
The operational temperature range of Viton® Sponge is -10°F to +400°F. At high temperatures, Viton ® Sponge resists heat and simultaneously retains its good mechanical properties.
Each thickness comes in a variety of sheet sizes and can even be cut to customer specific sizes. Contact us and ask about Viton Sponge Rubber sheet sizes.
VITON® DIAPHRAGM SHEET
Viton Diaphragm sheet is manufactured with high quality Viton rubber compounds designed for long service. This fluorocarbon rubber sheet is reinforced with Nylon, Nomex, or Fiberglass fabric to provide strength.
Recommended use for control valves, regulators, pumps etc. Typically available in one ply of fabric, multiple plies can be used for high pressures, and more demanding applications.
